A weird little app is turning children into “dewormers” and giving them an education about the effects of the dewormers in their water supply.
The app, dubbed “Dewormer” by developer Jason Pappas, can make a picture or video of you with your pet, turn it off, and ask you if you want to stop the child from being affected.
The program has been downloaded by over 3 million people and is available on the App Store.
“This is a real app that has been out there for a while,” Pappam said in a statement to Wired.
“It’s a tool to help parents make better decisions when it comes to water for their kids, and it’s an educational tool.”
The app’s creator, Jason Padda, said in the statement that he was inspired by the TED talk by “deplorable” child who had been diagnosed with cancer.
He wanted to make a tool that would “be useful in helping parents make decisions and that would help them make a better decision about water for themselves.”
Paddas said he decided to make the app because “we know there’s an epidemic of dewormings.”
Pappams father is battling cancer and the company’s co-founder, Aaron Pappacosta, said his mother had been told by a doctor that she should have been dewormed in the past because she had been “a good mother.”
He said the app’s “inclusionary” features, which will let parents know if their child is having problems, “is a good way for parents to inform themselves about the dewormers.”
“We are trying to do a lot of work with parents to help them figure out what they can do to help their children,” Padds said.
“I think it’s really important for parents, and I’m trying to help make it easier for parents as well.
I want to be a positive influence.”
Papps mother, Toni Pappaccone, said the company was inspired to make Dewormer because she was “very concerned” about the “de-worming” that her son was getting.
“They were telling him to stop eating, he was vomiting up his food, and he was having so much diarrhea,” she said.
Pappos mother added that “he was vomiting and he couldn’t eat anything because of the diarrhoea, so we were trying to make sure he got the treatment he needed.”
“When I went to the doctor and the nurse, they told me I shouldn’t have dewormes, I shouldnt have done any of that.
But I think the de-wormers are a big part of what’s happened,” she added.
Paddos mother said she was able to make an appointment with the de Wormer team to help him “keep up with the dosages and the treatments and whatnot.”

“A lot of the things that we’re hearing about dewormors, like the ‘de-wound’ or the ‘wound of the womb’, are just the tip of the iceberg,” Jason Papperas said in an interview with TechCrunch.
“The dewormor app is a way to really bring these things to light, and help parents understand what it’s like for them and how they can help their kids.”
Papperam said the de wormer app is designed to “make it easier” for parents who are “in a state of uncertainty” to know what to do to protect themselves.
“There are a lot more people out there who are not getting the treatment they need, and we’re trying to change that,” Papperams said.
